The first thing you need to determine is the virtualization platform that suits your needs, OpenVZ or KVM.
- OpenVZ VPS is usually cheaper, CPU configuration and RAM are bigger, but because there is no separation in CPU and memory allocation, it is very likely that overselling situation or you may be locked out of your account if you use Overuse of allocated resources.
- VPS KVM is provided with separate resources to operate, so it requires the service provider to invest more in hardware so the price is a bit more expensive. Often the configuration of VPS KVM is allocated relatively sparingly. In return, the service will be more stable and quality.
If your needs are not too high, I recommend using OpenVZ because of its cheap price and good quality. Ramnode provides both platforms for you to choose from.
Steps to register VPS Ramnode
1. Visit the Ramnode homepage
2. Select the appropriate package, for example, here I choose OpenVZ / SVZ. Click View Plans to continue.
3. Next step select datacenter
4. Select the amount of RAM you need, 512MB is enough for websites with moderate traffic. Continue to press ORDER NOW
5. Configure your VPS by selecting the Billing Cycle, the domain you will be using (hostname) and the pre-installed operating system and then clicking Checkout
6. Payment
- If you do not have an account here, you need to enter personal information in the Your Details section. If you already have an account, click Existing Customer and enter your login information.

- The invoice page appears, just click PayPal Check Out and then log in to the payment method.
